SportyHQ “Choose Line-up” Function

In case you missed it, the Vancouver Doubles Squash League schedule is now available on SportyHQ. You will still need to refer to the schedule on this unOfficial site to see “who's on first” (at least for the foreseeable future).

If you have not already done so, you might want to read the September 16th league update if you'd like to know how the league is set up for the coming season.

Schedule & Choose Line-up

Last season we never did get this working. But, this year, with a little better understanding of how things on SportyHQ work, we've managed to get something functional in place. As such we would appreciate all captains using this function so that the opposing captain can see the match pairings in advance.

On your team page, scroll down to the “Schedule Section” (just below the player stats area). Next to the appropriate date, click the “Choose Line-up” button. You will be presented with a list of all the players currently on your team along with some stats. In the left most column, “Position”, is a selector you can use to assign the desired player to their playing position for the date in question.

The available selections are: A (Left), A (Right), B (Left) and B (Right). The “A” selections refer to the top pair for the evening. Guess that means the “B” selections refer to the “perhaps not top pair.” The wall they will be playing is the second bit of each available selection.

Team E-mail

As a bonus, an e-mail will be sent to all team members advising them of the line-up you chose for the week in question.

Please Start Using Now

We would appreciate it if all captains started using this function immediately — i.e. for the September 23rd matches. And, we think the line-up should be available on SportyHQ for the opposing captain by no later than 6pm on the Monday preceding the match date.

Don't be afraid to make your selections early. You can alwasy go back and change them. Changes after 6pm on the preceding Monday should be accompanied by an e-mail to the opposing captain to let her/him know things have changed.

Problems?

Please contact us with the details.

Have fun, play hard!
